Children and adults with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) face a lifetime of physical, cognitive, and medical challenges for which there is no cure. For parents hearing the diagnosis of this rare spectrum disorder, it can be devastating. Fortunately, there is an award-winning organization serving individuals living with CdLS and their families by offering them compassionate care, support services and hope. That organization is the CdLS Foundation.
Founded in 1981, the CdLS Foundation is the only organization in the nation dedicated to CdLS, and is considered the world leader in support, research and discovery. By participating in this golf tournament, you help ensure that the CdLS Foundation has the funding to continue to serve the CdLS community.
Amber Gaines, who had CdLS and sadly passed away in 2020, continues to be the inspiration of this event, which started more than three decades ago. It began
when Jim and Joyce Kesting learned that their friends Doug and Barbara Gaines’ daughter was born with CdLS. They decided to do what they could to help fund the Foundation that offered the Gaines’ critical support.
With the help of the Snodsmith family, this annual event was underway. On behalf of the Gaines, Kesting and Snodsmith families, thank you for your continued support and for honoring Amber’s memory. The CdLS Foundation thanks our Title Sponsors--PLM Companies and Madison County Wood Products--for their 36 years of support.
