2nd Annual Philadelphia Area Idiotarod and Fireworks

The Idiotarod features shopping carts sometimes modified for the team. Four 'idiot' team members are tied to the cart, run along side of the cart and a 'musher' guides the cart from the back. The race has no course. There is a number of stations located through-out the south side where the teams will be required to check-in. There are special judges located throughout the race area who may disqualify teams that do not maintain continual shopping cart connection throughout the race. The team that completes the course in the best time without being disqualified or missing a station is the winner. The race usually features people in costumes and themed floats. The race, though fun, is competitive, and teams are known to sabotage each other in an effort to win. Phoenixville's regular Fourth of July celebration includes great music and fireworks.
