15th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep - Castleton-on-Hudson Riverfront Park Stewardship Project
Join Castleton-on-Hudson Main Street Association and Riverkeeper for a cleanup and invasive species removal project at Castleton-on-Hudson Riverfront Park from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for the 15th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This is a rain or shine event.
Volunteers will meet at 2 South Main Street, Castleton-on-Hudson, NY at Main Street and Scott Avenue in the parking lot near the Amtrak fence. Advance registration is required. This event is part of Riverkeeper Sweep, an annual day of service for the Hudson River where more than 2,000 volunteers come together across hundreds of miles of shoreline in New York City and the Hudson Valley to clean up trash, plant trees, and remove invasive plant species.
Over 14 years, Sweep volunteers have completed 1,463 projects and removed 396 tons of debris, including 2,352 tires, and planted or maintained thousands of trees and shrubs. Once-neglected areas have gained year-round stewards, and rivers and creeks are better for it.
