1515 Live Music: Featuring Garry Dowell and an Art Demo by Katherine Liontas-Warren
Garry recently concluded his church music career as the organist and pianist at First Christian Church in Edmond, Oklahoma, in January 2024. After serving as the organist for eight different congregations, he retired to focus on his family and solo career through Music by Garry, as well as collaborate with other talented artists under the same label. Garry has performed at events throughout Oklahoma and across the country. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in Vocal Music Education and a minor in Organ.
Katherine Liontas-Warren has been a resident of Oklahoma since 1984, where she taught printmaking, drawing, and watercolor for 37 years as a professor of art at Cameron University. She retired in May 2021 to pursue her art full-time as a professional artist. Katherine earned her Master of Fine Arts from Texas Tech University and her Bachelor of Science from Southern Connecticut State University. In 2014, she received the Oklahoma Governor's Art and Education Award and was named Artist of the Year by the Paseo Art Association. Katherine has exhibited her artwork in over 400 national solo, invitational, and juried competitive exhibitions across the United States and abroad, and she has earned numerous purchase and juried awards.
