The Zika Virus is top of mind for most Americans with the CDC just releasing a statement that "this virus seems to be a bit scarier than we initially thought" and possibly linked to more birth defects than just microcephaly. The College of Physicians of Philadelphia is bringing together two top scientists to discuss the impact of Zika on the US: Scott Weaver, PhD, Director, Institute for Human Infections and Immunity; Scientific Director, Galveston National Laboratory; John Sealy Distinguished University Chair in Human Infections & Immunity, University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX and Paul Offit, MD, FCPP, Director, Vaccine Education Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; Maurice R. Hilleman Professor of Vaccinology and Professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Breakfast will be served from 7:30AM-8AM with the lecture starting promptly at 8AM.
