Voices of Ascension: Renaissance Concert

Founded and conducted by Dennis Keene, Grammy-nominated Voices of Ascension is one of the world's premier professional choral ensembles. Voices of Ascension presents works by Lassus and Byrd, two powerhouse composers from the Renaissance era. This period of extraordinary human artistic flowering gave us what is often referred to as The Golden Age of Choral Music, when all the greatest composers of the world were writing for chorus. At the very end of this period two figures towered over them all: Lassus and Byrd. Several iconic works will be performed, including Lassus' Justorum animae and Surrexit Pastor Bonus, and Byrd's Ave Verum Corpus and Four-Part Mass.
