At the intersection of art and science lies Voyages, an original immersive event series at the National Aquarium that inspires connection to nature and celebrates all things Baltimore. Join us for Voyages: Chapter 3 and explore Aquarium exhibits as you consider—and celebrate—the healing power of water through soul-provoking art installations from award-winning local artist Nicoletta Daríta de la Brown.
Inspired by months of research within the Aquarium and content expertise provided by marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols, journalist Bonnie Tsui and others, Nicoletta explores the restorative benefits of water through ritual movement, sculpture and film. As you experience the Aquarium in a totally new way, Nicoletta’s art will invite you to consider your own connection with water.
Voyages: Chapter 3 will feature local food vendors Arepi, Heritage Kitchen and Waffle-Licious and a bar menu curated by food artist, sensory storyteller and advocate for the Black experience Cieara Adams, as well as an after party performance by Baltimore-based Ballet After Dark. Join us for a night of exploration that you won’t soon forget as our community of voyagers celebrates the water that connects us all.
This is where art and science meet. This is a one-of-a-kind celebration of all things Baltimore and the connection we share with the natural world. This is the Aquarium like you’ve never experienced it before. This is Voyages. Are you ready to embark on a journey into the deep?
