The Head of the River Church will celebrate their 226th Anniversary on Sunday, October 21. The morning worship service will begin at 11 AM with Rev. Dave Bailey, founder of Ranch Hope in Alloway in the pulpit at the historic church.
During the service, special music will be provided by The Greens, a well known couple from the South Jersey area.
At 12:30 PM there will be a picnic lunch on the grounds near the church, with potluck dishes, fried chicken, iced tea and lemonade, as well as other appetizing items. Paper goods will be supplied by the Trustees of the church. There are several picnic tables with benches there, but some people prefer to bring their own folding chairs.
People of all faiths are encouraged to attend and celebrate this milestone anniversary for the oldest Methodist church in New Jersey.
For persons with mobility issues the Trustees recommend arriving early in order to sit in the downstairs area of the church.
The church is located at the junction of Cape May Avenue, Head of the River Road and State Highway 49 in Estell Manor. Use 600 Rt. 49, Woodbine, NJ 08270 for GPS.
