Maker’s Market: The Local Shopping Alternative for the Holidays Baltimore, Maryland: Why shop at those over priced corporate retail stores, when you can buy local, save money, and help the community, all while supporting your local artists? Why buy from the same store every year, when you can find innovative and original ways to say “I love you” without hurting your pockets? Maker’s Market brings the local artistic community to the public. Makers Market will be 11am- 6pm at Downtown Cultural Arts Center, located on 410 North Howard St.

This event showcases many of Baltimore’s most creative entrepreneurs, showing off handmade products made by
Jewelry makers
Clothing designers
Artists
Crafters
Home/Garden

Here you'll find many of these handmade options and more. With two floors of creators you’re likely to discover that edgy looking set of earrings you've been searching for, or that majestic, one of a kind, painting to hang above your couch. Makers Market, hosted by Artists Compound, also provides artists a meaningful platform to showcase and sell their creative inspirations to the local public. That is also Chastity Sollmer’s mission as Artist’s Compound founder; for all artists to live off of their craft.

Makers Market is an alternative to shopping at your local mall, with an interactive family friendly drum circle, a dj bringing back the classics, live art, food vendors, and libations for the adults this is no ordinary holiday shopping spree.

Artists Compound is…
Artists Compound helps creative persons run their business by connecting them with opportunities to share, show, and sell. We provide tools for them to run their business more effectively while creating platforms for the masses to meet them.
This includes festivals, venues, an online database, an ecommerce store, direct marketing, and workshops. Unlike similar companies our goal is not to manage but to inspire independence

Mission Statement
Artists Compound is an organization committed to artistic advocacy. Our mission is to champion artists of diverse art forms through collaboration and event planning with venues and communities. We strive to foster inspiration and the creative freedom of expression; innovation and imagination of artists with exposure, promotion, and education.
