Smoke alarms save lives. This spring the American Red Cross is rallying volunteers to install free smoke alarms nationwide, as part of our Sound the Alarm initiative.
Working together with our community partners and the Baltimore City Fire Department, our goal for this spring's signature Sount The Alarm is to make 500 homes in Baltimore safer as we install free smoke alarms, create escape plans and share fire safety information.
Our National Sound The Alarm event takes place on Saturday, April 13th with two shifts, and in two locations in Baltimore. We’re rallying over 150 volunteers throughout the region to take part in this inspiring, impactful day.
All training, supplies, and snacks/lunch are provided. We start the day with a big rally and training, then head out on- foot, in teams of 3-4 volunteers, following our mapped routes to raise awareness and make homes safer.
All volunteers are invited to participate. We hope that you will consider joining us for this impactful, lifesaving event. Bring a friend, family member or neighbor, and see firsthand our mission in action.
