The U.S. Navy Concert Band will perform a FREE concert March 16 at 1 p.m. at River Hill High School 12101 Clarksville pike (Route 108) Clarksville, MD 21029. U.S. Navy Band performances are free and open to the public.
Saturday’s concert will feature an exciting program with band classics by Malcolm Arnold, John Philip Sousa, and Andrew Boysen Jr., with a special virtuosic performance by trumpet instrumentalist Chief Musician John Armstrong. Vocalist Chief Musician Bill Edwards will also perform crowd favorites. The concert will showcase the performance of “Molly on the Shore” written by Percy Grainger – a masterwork for wind band that is known a tour de force for the woodwind section.
Like all U.S Navy Band performances, the concert is a family-friendly event. The United States Navy Concert Band, the premier wind ensemble of the U.S. Navy, is the original ensemble of the Navy Band, and has been performing public concerts and participating in high-profile events for 98 years.
PLEASE NOTE: tickets are not required for entry.
