This performance centers on the extraordinary poet and visionary Julia Ward Howe, who wrote the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," and her journey as a charismatic human rights campaigner and a passionate activist on behalf of women’s rights and votes for women. Now, in this moving call to arms, she speaks passionately to our own time. She was also considered the originator of the 1870 Mother’s Day Proclamation, now known as Mother’s Day.
