History buffs will find a great and informative program being offered by Friends of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. On Thursday, June 16, at 6:30 PM, Kim Williams will be doing a presentation on Old Railroads from the Gap Area to Bushkill. Kim is a local historian who has extensive knowledge of the past railroads that served during the heydays of the Poconos. Anyone interested in hearing about how the past railroads like the Delaware Valley Railway served not just the visitors, but the locals and the school children, please join us!
The cost is $5 donation per person at the door for non-members and free for members of Friends of DWGNRA. Anyone under 18 is also free of charge.
You may pre-register on the Friends website, but it is not required. The direct link for registration is http://www.friendsofdewanps.org/old-railroads-from-the-gap-area-to-bushkill.html.
