2024 Native Plant Trust Visiting Artist Program Exhibit Opening: Regarding Nature by Julie C. Baer

Please join us for a reception to celebrate the opening of Regarding Nature on Saturday, October 5th, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Garden in the Woods, and go behind the scenes as Baer describes the project’s evolution during her artist’s talk on Sunday, October 6th, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., either at Garden in the Woods or on Zoom. Inspired by four seasons of walking through Native Plant Trust’s native plants botanic garden, Garden in the Woods, the pieces in Regarding Nature depict lichens, trees, and more at different points in their life cycles, often from surprising angles. These pieces invite viewers to care for the natural world by engaging them in repeated acts of looking. Baer’s work will be on view from October 5th-15th in the Education Building lobby and in the South classroom. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about Baer’s work from 2:00-4:00 p.m. each day that the exhibit is open.
