Polarized Guru Jazz Fusion Concert
FPC’s New Revival Coffeehouse will open its ’23-’24 season with a concert by jazz fusion band Polarized Guru in a concert to benefit FPC. The Nifong Brothers, Berklee graduates and accomplished local musicians, will open the evening with a short set.
Polarized Guru presents a dynamic show with a mix of jazz, funk, latin, and other styles. Inspired by artists like Chick Corea, Spyro Gyra, The Yellow Jackets, and Steps Ahead, the band plays covers and originals.
The members of the band are Paul Rodriguez on guitar; Todd Rhodes on drums; Michael Merrill on bass; Bob Ponte on keyboards; and John MacNeill on sax and aerophone.
"What a pleasure it is to hear a band like Polarized Guru,” said Tom Nutile, Host of the Tuesday edition of Standard Time on WICN. “This five-piece fusion group is polished, professional and plays with passion and joy (no cold fusion here). This is a band for serious listening and enjoyment – recommended for concerts and clubs more than easy-listening jazz brunches."
The concert takes place on Saturday, Nov. 11, at First Parish Church of Stow & Acton (FPC), 353 Great Rd., Stow. Doors open at 7pm. and the concert begins at 7:30pm. Masks are optional.
