Littleton Country Fair

The Littleton Country Fair is a one-of-a-kind event happening Saturday, Oct. 4 at 19 Foster St., 10 am to 4 pm. The main attractions are the giant yard sale; the Country Store with homemade crafts and jams; the cafe with homemade BBQ lunch and vegan/gluten free entrees; tables of pre-owned earrings, necklaces, bobbles and bangles; a room of used books; Tarot Card readings; and free kids face painting as well as free admission and parking for everyone. New this year: the yard sale will open at 8 am; every booth will accept VENMO and credit cards; and donations of gently used sneakers will be accepted for recycling by Got Sneakers? “We create an affordable family-friendly event for kids and shoppers of all ages with emphasis on reduce-reuse-recycle at the yard sale, book room and jewelry booth. There will be a huge box to donate gently used sneakers of all sizes to be and reused by Got Sneakers?” said Susan Tordella, co-chairperson of the event. The event happens inside and outside. The books and cafe are in the church. The bake table is outdoors where fresh homemade scones will be ready at 10 am, with coffee available too. Ready for a break? Take a peek at your future with an expert Tarot card reader and head to the Reiki table. The Country Fair dates to the late 1800s when Unitarian women started making and selling jam. “Since then, we have embraced our value of reduce-reuse-recycle with our pre-owned books, jewelry and the humongous array of household and kitchen goods, toys, tools, sporting goods, Bric-a-brac, art, small appliances and furniture. We exceed the promise of ‘Spend a day, not a fortune,’” Tordella said. Come early for the best selections at the yard sale and our famous homemade jams, jellies and pickles and crafts. The jewelry tables have a cluster of people around them from the opening bell and you are sure to find something that appeals to your style. Yard sale donations from the community will be accepted Friday, Oct. 3 from 2-6 pm, and 8-10 am the morning of the sale on Oct. 4. PLEASE NOTE: TVs, car seats, computer monitors, and artificial Christmas trees will NOT be accepted. All contributions are tax-deductible, to benefit First Church Unitarian of Littleton, which awards 10 percent of income to a Littleton non-profit. Email questions to [email protected]. Hope to see you there for a fun, frugal, delicious time.
