After finding herself in the middle of her own art history discovery when she uncovered the provenance of a Rodin sculpture sitting in a New Jersey town hall, Mallory Mortillaro learned how many times this has happened. This lecture explores the stories of ten important and valuable works of art that had been rediscovered in unexpected places. The program explores a brief background of each piece, the artist, and how the piece was lost and then found.
Mallory Mortillaro is an art historian and educator. She has ten years of teaching experience and has worked on various art research projects for museums and organizations in the New York metropolitan area. She studied at Drew University and resides in New Jersey with her husband.
Registration for this event opens Wednesday, March 15, 9:00am.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Bigelow Library and the Museum of Russian Icons, Chelmsford, Danvers, & Dracut Libraries.
