Summer Sewing Camp

MILLBURY, MA — This summer, young makers have a unique opportunity to trade screen time for sewing machines at Vibe Camp, a new four-day summer quilting series hosted by Vibe Creative Studio. Designed specifically for youth ages 8 and up, the camp offers an approachable introduction to the traditional craft of quilting in a fresh, modern setting. Running Monday through Thursday, each four-day intensive session guides students through the rewarding process of designing and making their very own patchwork quilt. Participants will learn essential sewing machine operations, precision piecing, and cozy, classic hand-tying techniques to finish their projects. Current Camp Weeks: June 22-25, July 13-16, August 4-7, 2026 Vibe Camp is built on a "no-pressure" philosophy, focusing entirely on creative exploration, building confidence, and fostering community among young local artists. No prior sewing experience is necessary to join. "Our goal is to provide a creative sanctuary where kids can slow down, connect with their hands, and feel the immense pride of saying, 'I made this,'" says studio founder Sherri Noel. The camp takes place in the studio's inspiring, light-filled location on the second floor of a historic Millbury mill building. To maintain a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, the studio operates with a unique "slipper studio" policy—participants are invited to kick off their outdoor shoes and wear their favorite slippers or socks while they create. Registration is currently open for summer sessions, with creative after-school programs also slated to launch this fall. Spaces are limited to ensure personalized instruction.
