Mind the Gap

They are angry, frustrated, full of woe and angst. But hey they are teenagers! Art therapy descends into surreal absurdity as a group of teens tries to process life and their emotions in today's world.

Mind the Gaps is a one-act play that explores the minds of the modern teenager and how they cope with environments that keep them isolated from others. Bullying, mental health and the post pandemic landscape comes into focus as these teens struggle to interact with each other and the world. As a group known for tackling serious issues in modern society, Shadow Company presents an original drama focusing on what the eyes don’t see and how society can improve at-large.

Mind the Gap will premiere as part of the 2023 Fringe Arts Festival at the Venice Island Performing Arts and Recreation Center in Manayunk. The performance runs September 8 - 9 and is approximately 60 minutes. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for students and can be purchased at www.yesandcamp.org/mindthegap.

Collaborative Arts (YACA) is a youth-centered organization dedicated to amplifying voices, nurturing agency, and creating community through performing arts experiences. We believe youth should have no barriers when discovering their unique perspectives because the future depends on compassionate, curious, and courageous leaders. We work with children and youth from across Philadelphia in the collaborative and imaginative arts through Summer Theatre Camps, Studio programs, Shadow Company high school leadership and arts training, and the Sort of Thing program.
