BEN LOUGHEED, Classical guitarist. Church of the Holy City's Sunday Concert. September, 14th.
Ben Lougheed has performed extensively around the U.S. He is an accomplished instructor who currently teaches at the Temple Music Preparatory. He founded the Florida Guitar Festival and served as its Executive Director for nearly a decade. His debut album, BAROQUE LEGACIES, which intertwines music by influential and celebrated Baroque composers with contemporary pieces inspired by these musical giants, is described as "an inspiration," "perfectly performed," "technically superb," and "emotionally delicious from start to finish." His second album, DANCING ON SIX STRINGS, is scheduled for release this year.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Music in Guitar performance from the Peabody Institute where he attended on the Charlie Byrd Memorial Scholarship, and both Master and Doctor of Music degrees from Florida State.
He performs on a handmade double-top guitar by German luthier Antonius Muller.
The Church of the Holy City, located on the corner of North Broom Street and Pennsylvania Avenue (Rt.52).
