Philadelphia Zoo supports conservation programs all over the world—now, we are bringing the world to you! At our Conservation Speaker Series, guests will enjoy light refreshments while meeting the people who are saving animals in the wild, hear their stories, and connect with Philadelphia Zoo’s conservation programs like never before.
For over 25 years, Philadelphia Zoo has supported Save the Golden Lion Tamarin.
Their work in the Atlantic coastal forests of Brazil has been instrumental in bringing the wild population of golden lion tamarins from a low of 150 individuals to a current population of over 4,800! In this session, you will hear about the different strategies used to reconnect fragmented habitat and restore tamarin populations, and how Philadelphia Zoo supported and influenced this work.
