Catch the Wister Quartet live at Laurel Hill Mansion, Join us Sunday, July 27 at 2pm
Women for Greater Philadelphia (WFGP) are pleased to present, what promises to be a truly memorable afternoon of music, the Wister Quartet. Featuring Derek Barnes, cello; Nancy Bean, violin; Pamela Fay, viola; and Meichen Liao-Barnes, violin; the Quartet will perform an engaging program of works by Antonín DvorÌŒák, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Franz Schubert. Renowned for their exceptional artistry and expressive performances, both critics and audiences have lauded the Quartet. Their recordings with DTR Recording Company have received critical acclaim, including a Grammy nomination, praised for their "big vibrant sound, dramatic contrasts, and brilliant effects."
To hear chamber music performed in the intimate, octagonal music room of Laurel Hill Mansion is an opportunity to experience these timeless works in a period appropriate setting.
Following the performance, guests are invited to a reception hosted by WFGP. Mingle, enjoy light refreshments, meet the artists, and experience the allure of the river view from Laurel Hill Mansion’s picturesque back porch.
Guests are invited to arrive early to explore the outdoor sculpture exhibit “Timeline” on display through October 17, 2025 on the mansion grounds.
