Our celebration will feature as keynote speaker public historian and musicologist Hannah Grantham. Hannah is Director of the Jane and Littleton Mitchell Center for African American Heritage at the Delaware Historical Society. Dan Citron, Historic Sites Team Manager at the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, will provide a briefing on current research into the African American presence at Cooch’s Bridge Historic Site. The Wilmington Children's Chorus will perform three songs, including a new arrangement of “Ardessia's Room” from "Cooch's Bridge: The African American Presence" by Jonathan W. Whitney. The audience will also participate in "Say Their Names," our tradition of remembering past lives at Cooch's Bridge Historic Site.
