"Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time" Screening and Discussion
Join us for a screening and conversation around episode three of Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time, National Geographic’s powerful five-part series that explores how a natural disaster became a national tragedy, told through archival footage and firsthand accounts from those who lived through it.
The program will open with an introduction from National Geographic Producer Sean Johnson, followed by a welcome from Executive Producer Ryan Coogler and a Q&A with director Traci A. Curry. Stephen Leach from National Geographic’s Inclusive Content and Engagement team will join attendees afterward to continue the conversation.
The event will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. in the Theater of the Arts on the University of the District of Columbia’s Van Ness campus. The theater is located at Connecticut Ave. and Windom Pl. NW. Admission is free and open to the public.
