25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Riverside High School
Hosted by two Riverside High School student athletes, Join us for the 5th Annual Riverside 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb as our community comes together to honor and remember the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
When: Sunday, September 13, 2026
Arrival/Check-In: 9:30 a.m.
Climb Begins: 10:00 a.m.
Where: Riverside High School – Riverside Stadium/FACT Field, Leesburg, VA
In honor of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, participants will have the opportunity to climb 110 flights of stairs, representing the 110 stories of the World Trade Center, in remembrance of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11.
The Stair Climb is not a race or competition, and you do not have to complete all 110 flights to participate. Everyone is encouraged to climb at their own pace and complete as many flights as they are comfortable with. The purpose is simply to come together as a community to honor and remember.
Local fire departments and firefighters will be present and participating alongside community members, making the event a meaningful opportunity for first responders, students, families, and supporters throughout Northern Virginia to climb together in remembrance of the fallen.
Last year, the Riverside 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb raised $17,093, and this year, in recognition of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, our goal is to raise $25,000. All funds raised benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which honors America’s fallen firefighters and supports their families.
Whether you climb all 110 flights, complete only a portion, donate, or come out to support those participating, everyone is welcome to join us as we honor the fallen and ensure that we Never Forget.
