Smut Slam DC: Paradise Found
How it works:
-This is a storytelling OPEN MIC– that means you’re the show!
-Audience members can sign up to tell a 5 minute story about something real AND CONSENSUAL that happened to them in their s*x lives.
-A panel of local celebrity judges scores each teller, and the top 3 tellers go home with a prize– spicy toys, books, event memberships, safer s*x supplies.
-There’s also the F*ckbucket, where audience members can write down anonymous questions (about s*x ed, relationships, resources, etc) or spicy confessions, and your femme-cee Diva Darling will read them aloud between stories. At the end of the night, all F*ckbucket entries are put into a raffle for a prize from our sponsor Uberlube!
This month, our theme is "Paradise Found". (Our themes are always just a prompt-- not a requirement!) For the literary-minded, perhaps you'll remember something profound and epic, or simply reminisce about getting steamy in the stacks at the college library. Confess your religious k1nk that turned "Father, forgive me, for I have sinned" into "Daddy, I'm sorry, I was bad!" Or go literal instead of literary with your swoon-worthy story of the encounter so hedonistic it was downright heavenly. As we steam up our sultry midsummer night, our lips are-- as Shakespeare put it-- blushing pilgrims taking us on the road to divine comedy!
A few things to know:
-Our venue, Pubkey DC, is physically accessible! (We’ve been holding out for an accessible venue.)
-Doors open at 7, and you can hang out in the front bar even earlier than that. Please enjoy Pubkey’s “gourmet pub grub” menu if you want to grab dinner.
-This is a queer-fem-run, inclusive and affirming space with a zero tolerance policy for assholes. Smut Slam audiences are diverse in age, race, gender, and body type. There are always a lot of queer and polyamorous/nonmonogamous folks. Whoever you are, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
-There’s no dress code– be casual, be fabulous, be sexy, be nerdy, just be street-legal and you’re all good.
-You can buy a copy of the first-ever Smut Slam International book, Anonymous S*x Vol. I, at the show and it’ll be signed and erotically doodled by Diva Darling.
-If tickets are available at the door, you can pay with $30 cash (exact change), Venmo, Cashapp, or PayPal.
-If tickets are NOT available at the door, we’ll have a waitlist in case of no-shows.
