Watch Singing Back the Buffalo presented in conjunction with the opening night of the Mother Tongue Film Festival. Director Tasha Hubbard (Plains Cree) will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A. Celebrate ten years in ten days of cultural and linguistic diversity highlighting the critical role languages play in our daily lives. The tenth annual Smithsonian’s Mother Tongue Film Festival returns with this in-person event from Thursday, February 20 through Sunday, February 23. The festival will spotlight new feature-length films, short film programs and other forms of digital storytelling, Q&A sessions with directors and a filmmakers roundtable discussion. Films featured over the decade of the Festival will also be screened.
