Mother Tongue Film Festival: Singing Back the Buffalo
Watch Singing Back the Buffalo presented in conjunction with the opening night of the Mother Tongue Film Festival.

Celebrate ten years in ten days of cultural and linguistic diversity highlighting the critical role languages play in our daily lives. The tenth annual Smithsonian’s Mother Tongue Film Festival returns with this in-person event from Thursday, February 20 through Sunday, February 23.
The festival will spotlight new feature-length films, short film programs and other forms of digital storytelling, Q&A sessions with directors and a filmmakers roundtable discussion. The Mother Tongue Film Festival is organized by Recovering Voices, a collaboration between the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, and the Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
