Late Night: A South Forty
Celebrate the spirit of Southern design and culture at the Museum’s summer Late Night, inspired by the exhibition A South Forty: Contemporary Architecture and Design in the American South.
Enjoy a live performance by acclaimed guitarist Yasmin Williams, learn the basics of two-step dancing, and sample whiskey from the women-owned Republic Restoratives Distillery.
Explore the Museum at Night: All first-floor exhibitions will be open throughout the evening, including A South Forty, so you can wander the galleries, take in cutting-edge Southern design, and reflect on the stories of place, resilience, and transformation that shape the region.

About Yasmin Williams
Williams draws from Black musical traditions and the legacies of pioneering Black women guitarists to create a sound that redefines modern fingerstyle guitar and positions her as a true artist of the new century. Her acclaimed album, Urban Driftwood (2021), has been praised by numerous publications such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, NPR Music, No Depression, Paste Magazine, and many others. In Williams’ latest album, Acadia, she plays a variety of instruments: guitar, banjo, calabash drum, kora, and even tap shoes.

A South Forty, an exhibition organized and curated by The Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, University of Arkansas, is devoted to the vibrant, distinctive contemporary architecture and design practices of the American South.
