Metropolitan School of the Arts to Present Legally Blonde


The Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) musical theatre department is thrilled to announce their upcoming production of the hit musical Legally Blonde, taking place at Meridian High School in Falls Church, VA, featuring a state of the art 600-seat theatre. This energetic and empowering show will run from Aug. 9 to Aug. 10 with performances at 7 PM each night. Tickets cost $10 for students and $25 for adults. Legally Blonde follows the story of Elle Woods, a determined and underestimated sorority girl who defies expectations by enrolling at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend. Through her journey, Elle discovers her own strength and intelligence, proving that she's much more than just a pretty face. The show is led by Metropolitan School of the Arts staff, including: Mary Robare, director and choreographer, N. Thomas Pedersen, music theatre director ad James Woods, associate music director. The performance is accompanied by a full professional orchestra. This production will showcase the talents of MSA's gifted young actors, singers, and dancers. Audiences can expect a vibrant and entertaining performance filled with catchy music, dazzling costumes, and heartwarming humor. “We are excited to bring Legally Blonde to the stage at Meridian High School,” says Tom Pedersen, director of musical theatre at MSA. “This show is a perfect fit for our talented students, and we can't wait to share their energy and enthusiasm with the community.” ABOUT METROPOLITAN SCHOOL OF THE ARTS (MSA) provides a cutting-edge performing arts studio training in a holistic learning environment that cultivates creativity, builds community and empowers students. The studio offers a post-high school graduate/gap program as well, for those students who desire an extra year to prepare for admittance into a performing arts university. Many students from MSA studios go on to perform in prestigious arenas including Broadway, National Tours, The Juilliard School, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Washington Ballet, The American Academy of Ballet, Universal Ballet Academy, The Kirov Ballet, The Hartt School, Marymount University (New York), Ford’s Theater and Mark Morris Dance Company.
