Wear Orange Rally 2024 hosted by Moms Demand Action Alexandria
On Friday, June 7, 2024, as part of Wear Orange Weekend and National Gun Violence Awareness Day, local volunteers with Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action in Alexandria will host a Wear Orange event to honor victims and survivors of gun violence and elevate gun violence prevention efforts nationwide. This event will be held in Alexandria’s Market Square from 5:00–9:00pm, with a speaking agenda beginning at 7:00pm, and will feature gun violence survivors, gun safety advocates, elected officials, community partners, and an on-site blood drive through INOVA blood donor services. This year, one of the featured speakers will be a gun violence survivor from Stop US Arms to Mexico, a project that seeks to reduce US arms sales and illegal gun trafficking fueling devastating gun violence in Mexico.
