A Midsummer Night's Dream - The Lake Braddock Theatre
One of Shakespeare’s most famous and fabulous comedies – outside of Ancient Athens, in the middle of a forest, in the middle of the night, four young Athenians (two of whom are eloping) find themselves accidentally embroiled in the marital strife of two immortal beings, the King and Queen of the Faeries. Meanwhile, a group of well-intentioned but skill-less craftsmen from Athens rehearse a VERY bad production of a play that they are SURE will make them rich and famous. Until their leading man (a fellow named Nick Bottom) gets turned into a half-donkey man and finds himself suddenly also swept up in a magical love triangle with the King and Queen of the Faeries. Magic. Mind-Control. Poor life choices. And one of the best cast of characters that Shakespeare ever wrote – what’s not to love?
Come see this wonderful production on October 30th, 31st, and November 1st! Those who come in costume on Halloween night will have the opportunity to take a photo with our cast members.
