The Choral Arts Society of Washington proudly announces its final performance of the 2024-25 season, The Choral Legacy: 60 Years of Creating Stories Through Voice on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM, under the esteemed creative direction of Marie Bucoy-Calavan, Choral Arts Artistic Director. This narrated, continuous performance reflects on six decades of choral excellence among the Washington, DC community – including the world premiere of Choral Arts’ newest commission, Saunder Choi’s “To Imagine Creation.”
The Choral Legacy will take place in The Kennedy Center Concert Hall, featuring Marie Bucoy-Calavan, Choral Arts Artistic Director, the Choral Arts Symphonic Chorus and the Choral Arts Orchestra. The relevant and reflective 90-minute tribute will feature excerpts from the following classic works:
Messiah - George Frederic Handel
Chichester Psalms - Leonard Bernstein
Requiem - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Requiem - Giuseppe Verdi
Requiem - Johannes Brahms
To Imagine Creation - Saunder Choi *
Symphony No. 9 - Ludwig van Beethoven

Attendees will also experience an orchestral arrangement with added narration throughout the performance. As an ongoing tradition, The Choral Arts Society of Washington collaborates with esteemed embassies across Washington, DC, enriching each performance with creativity and cross-cultural experiences.
