Catherine Weinraub is an accomplished historian and storyteller with extensive experience at the Office of Historic Alexandria, Mount Vernon, and Arlington House. She currently serves as the Historian for the Ivy Hill Cemetery Historical Preservation Society. Her passion for Alexandria’s history is evident in her tours, which illuminate the city’s heritage, including the 19th-century fires that shaped its firefighting legacy. In 2023, Catherine authored Friendship Fire Company 250th Anniversary 1774 – 2024 Alexandria, Virginia, a book celebrating the long-standing history of the Friendship Fire Company and its contributions to the community. Founded in 2006, the Ivy Hill Cemetery Historical Preservation Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting the cemetery’s monuments, history, and natural beauty. Through tours, lectures, events, and volunteer opportunities, the society raises awareness and funds to fulfill its mission. All donations are tax-deductible.
