PaintCare, a program created by the American Coatings Association that makes it easy to manage leftover paint, is pleased to announce a community-wide paint recycling event on Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Ballou High School.
Community members are encouraged to drop off their leftover household paint, stain, and varnish at no cost, while PaintCare ensures the “highest, best use” of paint collected. Paint in good condition will also be immediately made available to the public for free at this event.
Community members are required to register on the event’s Eventbrite. Certified waste transporters will be on hand to remove paint containers from vehicles for a contactless drop-off. Pedestrians, bikes, and public transit participants are also more than welcome to attend.
PaintCare will accept both latex- and oil-based architectural paint products, including paints, stains, sealers, and varnishes. Paint must be dropped off in its original container with its original manufacturer’s label. No leaking, unlabeled, or empty containers will be accepted. There are no restrictions on how much paint a household can bring to the event.
