MLK Youth Community Choir Pre-Event Rehearsal and Concert

MLK Youth Community Choir Pre-Event Concert - Chinn Park Regional Library hosts rehearsals and concert January 4. The Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (PWCAC-DST) will celebrate its 40th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Program and Youth Oratorical Competition on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. (Doors open at 10 a.m.) This year’s event will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 18410 Chapel St, Triangle, VA (off Route One, near Quantico MCB). Middle school and high school students from throughout the Prince William County area will display their amazing oratorical skills and children of all ages will sing songs of celebration in the MLK Youth Community Choir. The MLK Community Choir was formed as a part of the 1990 MLK program along with the debut of student orators, instead of adult speakers. The MLK choir is composed of area students from kindergarten to 12th grade. Under the musical direction of Dr. Robin K. Butler, the choir will rehearse for the annual MLK program and then hold its pre-event concert at Chinn Park Regional Library on January 4, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in the community room. The MLK Youth Community choir, the Manassas Park High School Drumline and the Fannie Fitzgerald Elementary School B.E.A.M. Step Team along with the student orators will make the January 18 program a real celebration of Dr. King and the talents of our community’s youth.
