“Promise Champions” Reception Gala
During the gala, Sandy Hook Promise will be celebrating U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján and U.S. Senator Todd Young, whose work has helped bring national awareness to violence prevention and school safety.
Special musical guest Bootsy Collins will be performing during the event. Collins is known for his work as the bassist of Parliament Funkadelic and as a gun violence prevention advocate.
The gala is hosted by Sandy Hook Promise, a national nonprofit that educates and empowers youth and adults to prevent violence in schools, homes, and communities. The organization’s evidence-informed “Know the Signs” prevention programs have saved hundreds of lives by teaching how to identify the warning signs that someone may be in crisis, socially isolated, at-risk of hurting themselves or others, and how to get help.
Proceeds from the event help fund Sandy Hook Promise’s no-cost violence prevention programs in schools, youth organizations, and communities nationwide.
