St. Mary's Co Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage
Experience springtime in Southern Maryland on this self-guided tour of seven private historic and waterfront homes, a flower farm and church with inspiring landscapes and stunning floral designs. In addition to house and garden tours there will be a special viewing of a documentary film, a De La Brooke Foxhounds W Hunt Club demonstration, wine tastings and Bourbon samplings scheduled at various tour stops throughout the day. The tour jogs along the Routes 5 and 235 corridors from Mechanicsville to Hollywood. Tour is arranged in numerical sequence (see below) but may be visited in any order, Pilgrims receive a tour book with map and complete addresses at any first stop. Proceeds benefit historical restoration projects at All Faith Episcopal Church in Mechanicsville; an 18th century Maryland National Register architectural masterpiece by noted architect Richard Boulton. Additional funds support "Unearthing Maryland's Early Manors", a St. Mary's College of Maryland archeology foundation project to identify, document and preserve colonial settlement manors beyond St. Mary's City. Lunch -- Boxed lunches are available by pre-paid orders received no later than May 4, 2022. Lunches will be served or available to go from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Birch Hanger (Site #5). Limited seating capacity. Sandwich choices: turkey and Swiss; club (trio classic); roast beef; and vegetarian (all sandwiches served on fresh-baked bread). Sandwich selections come with a pickle, chips, side salad and cookie. The salad option is a gluten-free chicken Caesar salad with gluten-free bread. All lunches include a bottle of water.
