Opening Reception and Artist Talk: Hacia la Vida | Toward Life
Join Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art (Tephra ICA) for an Opening Reception and Artist Talk for Hacia la Vida | Toward Life featuring work by Baltimore-based artist Hoesy Corona and the California artist duo Cog•nate Collective. Each of Mexican descent, the artists create a new framework for understanding the position of the immigrant as deeply optimistic and full of hope. During the program, Cog•nate Collective will lead a participatory performance, inviting visitors to activate their installation, Hacia la Vida, by lighting a candle and reciting an incantation in solidarity with migrants and struggles that seek our collective liberation.
The Exhibition Opening and Artist Talk will take place on Saturday, March 11th at 5PM at Tephra ICA. The program content will be livestreamed via Zoom starting at 5:15PM. Tephra ICA is located at 12001 Market Street #103 Reston, VA 20190. Garage parking at Reston Town Center will be free during the time of this program.

Please join Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art (Tephra ICA) Board Chair Robert Goudie, Executive Director & Curator Jaynelle Hazard, and Associate Curator Hannah Barco for a private dinner with artists Hoesy Corona and Misael Diaz and Amy Sanchez of Cog•nate Collective to celebrate the opening of the Hacia la Vida|Toward Life exhibition at Tephra ICA.
Cost per seat is $75 ($60 for Tephra ICA Members, Board of Directors, and Sponsors) all inclusive. Proceeds benefit exhibitions at Tephra ICA. Space is limited.
