9TH INVITATIONAL

The Reston Art Gallery’s 9th Annual Invitational exhibition will be on view from March 7 to 29, Saturdays and Sundays, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Reston Art Gallery and Studios (RAGS), located at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston, Virginia. All are welcome to a reception to meet the artists on Sunday, March 15 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Each of seven RAGS artists chose a special guest artist with a compatible style, and they will all show their work together at the Reston Art Gallery’s popular annual event. The works feature an exciting and wide range of fresh, contemporary art, including mixed media works, pottery, photography, found art sculptures, a large, ornate door, and paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor. The RAGS artists include RAGS owner and painter Pat Macintyre, found art sculptor Doug Fuller, and mixed media artists and painters Jennifer Duncan, Sandra Dovberg, Rosemarie Forsythe, Julia Tova Malakoff, and Marthe McGrath. Their guests include mixed media, mosaic and found object artist Nirmala Iyer, photographer Lawrence S. Schieken, potter Chi Negin, acrylic pour painter Jenise Dorf, mixed media artist Doug Schulte, and watercolor and ink artist Jeremy Graboyes. RAGS fiber artist Cindy Grisdela will also show her art. The artists come from a variety of backgrounds and have learned and honed their many techniques all over the world. The exhibition brings together a variety of textures, forms, colors, and meanings for a memorable and exciting show.
