The instructor would work, over a four-week period, as a partner to facilitate a plan that would include coping strategies and writing topics and participants will be encouraged to describe emotions and situations that have negatively influenced their life, their relationships, and mindset. Topics will be refined and discussed in each session as journal entries become song lyrics.
    • After the initial 4 weeks, the child will be referred to one of the trained mentors. Over the course of 4 one-hour sessions, the teacher will work with the participant to create a song that reflects the child’s personality, lyrics and vision. The final step in this program will be a session in a recording studio. The session will be between 1 to 3 hours depending on the details of the song.
