ShamROCKIN' Family Fun Day
The Rogers County Health Department will hold its third annual ShamROCKIN’ Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22. The event will take place at the Claremore Community Center, 2301 N Sioux, Claremore, OK 74017 and is free and open to the public.
There will be 30-minute informational sessions starting at 10:30 a.m. on topics ranging from Alzheimer’s/Dementia guidance to family yoga and information about counseling services.
Breakout Sessions Guide:
• Safenet: Learn about Safenet, a service in Rogers County that provides resources for individuals and families healing from the consequences of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
• OSU Extension Office: OSU Rogers County Extension Educator Penny King will teach an easy and fun yoga class for families.
• Light of Hope: Come visit with Light of Hope, a non-profit ministry helping individuals and families facing substance misuse and addiction. The organization also guides in resource assistance, support groups, grief support groups and life-building classes.
• Foundations Behavior Health: Meet with licensed behavioral health professionals with offices in Claremore. Their practice includes licensed alcohol and drug counselors, trauma-specific therapists, geriatric-informed therapists and children-and-family strength-based therapists.
• OSDH Chronic Disease Prevention Series: The Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion will offer resources and information on Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.
