Taylor's paintings depict the natural world, dreams and the human experience. He combines powerful designs and patterns with elegantly rendered subjects. The work evokes a sense of calm, wonder and energetic curiosity about the world.

Growing up in the mountain and desert wilderness of the Southwest, as well as the woods and rivers of Alaska and Washington, brought a love for nature that continues to be cultivated through Wil’s work. His pieces yearn not only to gaze upon beauty, but to become an important part of what is beautiful. He examines other cultures and their connections with flora and fauna— lessons that help steer his own path toward a visual narrative with the living things he chooses as subjects and guides.
