TheDGT.org Presents Clean Elections Executive Director Thomas Collins, Thursday March 7 at 6pm
Thomas Collins is the Executive Director of Arizona’s Clean Elections, responsible for our state’s unique public campaign financing system for state candidates. As executive director he is responsible for day-to-day operations for the Commission, a five-member board that administrates and enforces Arizona’s Citizens Clean Elections Act, including its education and campaign finance programs. We will discuss recent changes in the laws of Arizona around campaign finance and how candidates are utilizing the system. Director Collins joined TheDGT.org for a conversation early last year, which you can view on our Youtube Channel. Director Collins is always interested in how candidates, office holders and players within the political parties are are utilizing the system and the public’s feedback, so we are looking forward to a healthy and robust dialog.
Director Collins is an attorney specializing in elections, appeals & administrative law and a graduate of UArizona College of Law. Collins was an assistant attorney general for the Arizona Attorney General’s office, focused on election law, appeals, and attorney general opinions. He clerked for Justice Scott Bales (2005-06) and the late Justice Michael Ryan (2007-10) of the Arizona Supreme Court.
