Tucson Flute Club Spring Concert: Explore the World — and Beyond
Tucson Flute Club presents the Southern Arizona Flute Orchestra in concert on Friday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Philip’s In The Hills Episcopal Church (in the Church). The concert, titled “Explore the World — and Beyond,” will take you to locales such as Spain, Newfoundland, Italy, Brazil, Japan, South Africa ... and Space, with both familiar and new music. The group will be conducted by Jack Schmidgall, Music Director. The public is warmly invited. Admission is free, with donations appreciated.
The instrumentation for the concert will include multiple sizes of flutes — piccolo, C flute, alto flute, bass flute, contrabass flute, and sub-contrabass flute — encompassing six octaves and producing a surprising, richly textured sound.
