Preserving Bernal’s Legacy: Louis Carlos Bernal, Ann Simmons-Myers, Charlotte Earley, Karen Hymer, Anh-Thuy Nguyen, Ernesto Esquer, Pam Golden and Marietta Bernstorff
“Preserving Bernal’s Legacy” celebrates the influential work of Louis Carlos Bernal and the talents of Pima Community College’s faculty and alumni photographers. Featuring diverse perspectives, works by Louis Carlos Bernal are shown along with those who followed him after his tragic fatal accident, from Ann Simmons-Myers’ “Bikers” series to Pam Golden’s images of the Tohono O’odham Nation border, this exhibit honors Bernal’s lasting impact while showcasing the vibrant cultural narratives of Tucson.

Lecture: October 17, 6 p.m., Nadiah Rivera Fellah, Associate Curator of Contemporary Art, Cleveland Museum of Art. Lecture topic: Pride of Expression: Latinx Photography and Lowrider Culture
