Tucson Pops Orchestra and the Arizona Women's Chorus present the World Premier of the Tides of Life

As part of their spring season, the Arizona Women’s Chorus (AWC), in collaboration with the Tucson Pops Orchestra, will present the world premiere of a groundbreaking new work, The Tides of Life, at the La Rosa Performing Arts Center on April 25 and 26. Composed by Khris Dodge, Executive Director of the Tucson Jazz Festival and Artistic Director and Conductor of the Tucson Pops Orchestra, this original piece will debut in Tucson before traveling to Carnegie Hall in New York City later this summer. The Tides of Life is a compelling five-movement work that explores the stages of a woman’s life through the metaphor of natural elements. Featuring lyrics by acclaimed Tucson vocalist Katherine Byrnes, Dodge describes the composition as “simple in gesture and rich in craft—tuneful yet daring, delicate yet elemental—and dedicated to all women whose lives guide us through the tides of time.” Performances will take place at 2:00 p.m. on both days. Tickets for the AWC Spring Concert Series are now available at www.azwomenschorus.org About the Arizona Women’s Chorus: Founded in 1981 in Tucson, the Arizona Women’s Chorus is a non-profit organization featuring nearly 100 multi-generational female vocalists.
