Arizona Wind Quintet
The Arizona Wind Quintet is the faculty ensemble-in-residence at the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music in Tucson, Arizona. Formed in 1977, AWQ has cultivated a tradition of excellence in both performance and teaching. The quintet mentors the award-winning Fred Fox Graduate Wind Quintet, the university’s premiere student chamber ensemble. In 2018, AWQ enjoyed a residency at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City. A tour of the Los Angeles area in 2019 included performances at the Mexican Consulate and UCLA. The ensemble recently recorded a disc for Toccata Classics, Hans Winterberg: Chamber Music Volume I, released in 2018.
