Celebrate Grandparents Event hosted by UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Arizona
Community organizations will offer no-cost wellness checks and social services information. Families can enjoy live Mariachi music and baile folklórico dances, a DJ, photo booth, and giveaways. Families will leave with fresh produce and grandparents will receive “senior produce bags” containing healthy foods for home. UnitedHealthcare representatives will also be available to educate attendees about health care coverage.
Many children live with one or both grandparents who serve as the main caregiver. According to Generations United, nearly 8 million children in the U.S. live in households headed by grandparents or other relatives and in roughly 1 in 3 of these households, neither of the children’s parents live in the home. We want to celebrate all grandparents for all they do, every day, to help raise happy, healthy kids.
