The El Presidio Historic Neighborhood will open the doors to some of downtown Tucson’s oldest and finest homes after a
10-year hiatus. Named for the Spanish Presidio de San Augustine del Tucson (1775), El Presidio Historic District is one of the nation’s oldest inhibited places. From the gracious Victorian Franklin House to Territorial-style adobes and new infill construction, the home tour will feature nine homes and eight historic points of interest in Tucson’s first neighborhood. Please be advised these are private historic homes and are not wheelchair accessible or ADA compliant.
The home tour begins at the Historic Fish House, 140 N Main (entrance to the Tucson Museum of Art) where ticketed participants will receive the El Presidio Home tour map and entrance ticket for the admission to the homes. Included in the admission ticket will be:
Free entry into the Presidio San Agustin del Tucson Museum and short tour
Entrance to the Monson Room at JoJo’s Restaurant to hear historian Ken Scoville
Free ice tea, lemonade and churros at El Charro Restaurant (with proof of home tour ticket purchase)
