Porfirio Gutierrez, Zapotec Artist and Travel Guide, to Present On the ‘Magic of Oaxaca’
Mr. Gutierrez is a Oaxaca & California-based Zapotec textile artist and natural dyer, born and raised in the richly historic Zapotec textile community of Teotitlán del Valle in Oaxaca, Mexico. He has exhibited his works at the Smithsonian Institute, the Arizona State Museum, Harvard University and numerous museums in Mexico.
Mr. Gutierrez also operates the Ancestros Oaxaca travel company, with which BCA partners for our Oaxaca tours. His presentation, “Magic of Oaxaca, will provide his unique perspective of the cultures, traditions and experiences of Oaxaca. The presentation also will provide information about the BCA’s fall 2023 Oaxaca tours.
